Protect Your Most Precious Resource

As we race forward into the digital age, our attention has become a precious commodity. With so many external stimuli and with technology advancing so fast, any hope of making it through the day without feeling scattered, anxious and drained depends on deliberate practice.

Mindfulness is uniquely suited to help with our modern-day struggles. Although we as a society value physical exercise and intellectual knowledge, we have not equally valued or prioritized attentional and emotional training.

Even the most well-educated among us may not be skilled in some of the things that matter most. We see the consequences of this deficiency all around us and in our own anxious minds.

Together We Rise

Mindfulness is a radical act of empowerment and sovereignty, both for us as individuals and for society. While not a panacea, committing to a regular mindfulness practice can create a significant and lasting transformation.

Many people come to a mindfulness training out of curiosity and are surprised by how different life can feel in just 10-weeks. Engaging in a journey like this – in a safe and loving community, where you can be vulnerable, where you will be seen and heard, is therapeutic in and of itself.

Now more than ever it is important to not leave our individual or collective well-being to chance. Won’t you join us?

take a journey into mindful connection

TAKE A JOURNEY INTO MINDFUL CONNECTION

A growing body of research documents the many physical and emotional benefits associated with mindfulness practice, which include:

✅ A stronger immune system

✅Less time spent ruminating over stressful events

✅Lower cortisol levels which means less stress

✅ Altered brain structure and function leading to a more positive mood

These benefits, and many more, make this ancient practice a very practical application for modern living. As a remedy for the stress and fast-pace of modern life, mindfulness is exploding in businesses, classrooms, boardrooms, hospitals and living rooms around the globe.

Connect more deeply to yourself, others, and the world around you, while having the opportunity to share this practice with others. Have fun, go deep, stretch and grow together.

There is no better time than now to embrace a more heart-centered and conscious way of living.

If you feel drawn to truly be the change you want to see in the world, join Erin Sharaf, the founder of Mindfulness + Magic, for this comprehensive, heartfelt training.

GUEST EXPERTS:

mindfulness teacher training Lauri Klein is a psychotherapist and longtime mindfulness practitioner and teacher, who is one of the few people to teach all 3 of the major mindfulness based interventions (MBSR, MBCT, MSC). Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) is emerging as a powerful and necessary practice to counteract the inner critic. In our session on MSC, Lauri will help you learn to identify self-defeating thoughts and replace them with habits that promote self-acceptance and joy.

mindfulness teacher training Priscilla Szneke Have you ever wondered where the concept and practice of mindfulness comes from? Much of it originates from ancient texts called the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path and the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. Priscilla will delve into these ancient teachings making them relevant in our everyday lives. Learn how mindfulness was very deliberately designed as a pathway to alleviate suffering and to take us from confused to awakened.

IN-PERSON RETREAT

In-Person Retreat

Most people rarely, if ever, experience extended periods of introspection. Without the pressures of external distractions, we have the gift of going even more deeply into our own inner exploration.

This 2-day intensive is a highlight for many students, as it gives them the chance to meet each other in person, connect more deeply, and immerse themselves in a weekend steeped in mindfulness meditation and community.

On Saturday, students are held in a safe container and  guided by Erin through a silent mindfulness retreat, getting to experience first-hand the unique benefits that come with such immersion.

On Sunday, the retreat continues with brainstorming and discussion of how you want to bring mindfulness out into the world, and an opportunity to practice leading the group through a short mindfulness practice.

Leave the weekend inspired and empowered to step into a leadership role in your own community. Create meaningful work for yourself and positive change for those around you. (*In person in beautiful S. Kingstown RI or by Zoom).

Certification

This specialized certification program includes ongoing support from the Instructor as-needed, as you create and offer your unique classes to the community. There is also a bonus recording on Teaching Skills, which addresses such topics as:

CERTIFICATION

  • sharing with confidence
  • creating and holding space
  • language for mindfulness
  • staying unattached to outcome and letting go of expectations
  • confidentiality, group safety
  • challenging classes, student scenarios
  • getting comfortable taking imperfect action
  • is there a ‘dark side’ to mindfulness?
  • what to do if students get triggered

Students are required to complete 10 hours of teaching on their own, as a way to support their growth as a Mindfulness Teacher. Each person will create their own offering and opportunity to share. Past participants have taught at their current places of employment, at community centers, nursing homes, churches and other venues.

The best way to learn is by doing, so this practicum is a great way to learn and grow as a teacher.

Erin is available to you throughout this time by email and short phone calls for guidance and to answer any questions that come up.

After the teaching, students are given a written exam and a final mentoring call with the Instructor. A continuing daily mindfulness practice is a prerequisite for anyone teaching mindfulness.

Mindfulness Teacher Training

How is this Offering Unique?

HOW IS THIS PROGRAM UNIQUE?

✅ If you go on to teach, you will be encouraged to make the offerings your own, not to teach from a recipe or a script. The world needs your authenticity and creativity.

✅ There are mindfulness certification programs offered with no retreat component. We feel the retreat experience is essential in really understanding, in a comprehensive, embodied way, what mindfulness is truly about.

✅ This program is heavily influenced by Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) which has been on the cutting edge of mindfulness based programming since 1979. This is the model on which most of the scientific studies have been done. You are getting all the core practices introduced into MBSR by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn plus readings and videos to reinforce the teachings.

✅ MBSR classes can be large with dozens of students enrolled. This training is more intimate (average enrollment 8-10 students) so you can get more attention and bond more easily with other participants. Students often stay connected after the class has ended.

✅ There are other programs you can take that are longer in duration. Since mindfulness is a practice to embrace and learn from over a lifetime, and with the understanding that you will continue to learn and grow as a mindfulness student and teacher, we believe there is no time to waste and want to give people the essential skills to start sharing in their communities as soon as possible.

✅The flexible, online format accommodates busy schedules, travel and other unforeseen situations that might make regular, in-person meetings impossible.

This program is comprehensive and robust, designed to give you a very solid grounding in core mindfulness practices in a relatively short amount of time. Students in the teacher training should plan to practice mindfulness for at least 30 minutes, 6-days a week and to set aside 60-90 minutes per week for class readings and videos. Those doing the immersion will be given options of home practices of different lengths.

✅ Students who have taken the 10-week online program can retake the online-portion only at 50% off. Many participants have chosen this option to deepen their learning.

✅ As space allows, MTT graduates who previously attended a retreat may attend the full 2-day retreat for $175, or Saturday only for $97. Many participants choose to come back to the retreat as a way to reinvigorate their practice and enjoy some time in community.

✅ The world is changing rapidly. Erin and the guest instructors keep their pulse on what is happening in society. We are nimble enough to adapt the teaching to the current problems of the day so things feel fresh and relevant.

Erin truly is a warm and loving individual who wants to help you be the best that you can be! She provides you with the tools through mindfulness to make your world a better place. It was a joy being a part of the journey from the phone meetings to the retreat. “As you know, I took this course for personal growth/development and feel it was an all around positive experience. Thank you so much for everything!” ~MTT Participant

“I’m so aware now of my body, my emotions and my feelings that I know I can get through anything. When I reflect back, I can see how far I’ve come which is pretty cool, and a big part was this training! I’m really excited to see where things go.”  ~K.T, Exercise Physiologist and Yoga Instructor

“I am a seasoned meditator for over 25 years and a psychotherapist using DBT and Mindfulness in treating clients. I had decided to take the next step , which would be working with groups and perhaps public speaking on the power of using mindfulness in one’s everyday life, so I decided to enroll in Erin Sharaf’s Mindfulness Teacher Training at All That Matters. The class proved to be an interesting and informative one. Observing Erin’s  teaching and  guiding the class through our journey of self discovery while also outlining the concrete course work was wonderful to witness and be a part of . The guest speakers were an added bonus.
I would highly recommend this class and I promise you will not be disappointed . Erin is an amazing teacher and person. I fell very fortunate that I found this class.”  ~Priscilla M, Psychotherapist

“I am so grateful that I found  Erin Sharaf’s Mindfulness Teacher Training! The course was engaging and life changing. Erin provides you with the tools and builds your confidence, so you can immediately start teaching and spreading the benefits of mindfulness to others, if that’s what you desire. As a certified life coach Erin’s course has truly enriched my practice.” ~Tony Ferraiolo, Trans Youth Advocate, Author

“I want to thank you for teaching the MTT program. What I have learned has affected me in profound ways, both personally and professionally. I have a deeper understanding of myself and how I interact with the world around me, leading me in personal growth that I would not have experienced without this program. I have been able to take what I learned and teach these concepts to my colleagues and also used these practices to help patients reduce their anxiety and pain. ’This program has given me a solid foundation to continue to build on in my life long journey of growth and development.”
~Julia Twining, Registered Nurse

This course is life changing. You can not afford not to take it! You end up turning all your negatives ( like that last sentence!) into positives! Seriously, it has gotten me through two major life situations. Erin is masterful!” ~past participant

I can’t properly express what this course has meant to me. and how it has propelled me forward on my journey.. I see a reality I had never seen before. I feel like a million bucks. I am changed in so many ways: my friendships are improved, my social anxiety has diminished, I’m more generous to myself and others. I feel wonderful, thank you!” ~past participant

What I learned in this Mindfulness program is literally saving lives as I share the practices with the at-risk youth in my community.. People really need this. They soak it in like nothing I’ve ever seen before. People crave permission to love themselves enough to heal from painful events of the past. The message of loving-kindness needs to be spread. I can feel people’s energy shift and it never gets old. The world really needs this practice. Erin is passionate and walks her talk. She offers up mindfulness in a way that people can understand..”  ~past participant

“The BEST decision I ever made for myself. This program changed my life and an Extra Bonus is that I now have the most amazing human in my life: Erin Sharaf.”  ~past participant, yoga instructor

“Most of us want to be more mindful – and yet it’s so hard to keep up with it enough to make it stick. Erin’s MTT program has given me the weekly support – and awareness – to actually be practicing. It’s been really neat to exercise the muscle of noticing the moment for what it is, not what I think it should be, not what I wish it to be, but simply what it is. This letting go brings an amazing level of peace.”  ~past participant

“Erin is the peace of our world…through her devotion to create peace in the hearts of others, so we can live in peace and harmony. You will discover your true self if you sit daily in the quiet. Miracles happen when you repair your mind. We all deserve to be free and calm. She holds no agenda except for you to genuinely find your own journey.”  ~past participant

“Having been introduced to mindfulness in the mid 1970’s I find that my daily practice waxes and wanes. Taking Erin’s class re-invigorated me and reminded me that a mental/emotional/spiritual check-up (or check-in) is as important to maintaining my health as my annual visit with my family practice MD.

I loved the history of the mindfulness philosophy that Erin and her guest presenters wove into the course. I have benefited from the leadership of many teachers over the years and I have to say that Erin is extraordinarily talented. I think I had a mini-withdrawal when the 10 weeks ended.”

~Gee Gee Rosell, owner Buxton Village Books, Hatteras Island, NC

I’m at my annual oncology check up. Last year my bp was 200/97. Just now 160/84. Average at home is 130/78. Something good is happening! Thank you❤️”

~Text from past participant upon completion of the 10-week program

“I earned three degrees in my lifetime but got more life changing outcomes from Erin’s mindfulness training than the three of them combined! Give yourself this gift in the midst of everything that is going on.” ~ P.M.

“This past week I devoted 5 hours of mindfulness teaching, all of them one-on-one in a comfortable, private setting at my center. I received wonderful and useful feedback thus far from each of my students. The private sessions were helpful as I was able to meet each person at his/her level and needs. Each one expressed interest in attending future group trainings or workshops, which is the validation I was looking for.

This has been one of the most rewarding and heart-opening experiences for me! I thank you for your amazing teaching and mentorship.”
Julia T, MSN, Nurse and Educator

“On the outside, taking a mindfulness class at a larger institution can seem so official and professional that I can see the draw. But with all that professional and college-like feel there is also this sense of: can I let my guard down? Why can’t I see everyone on one screen of my computer? Some people are so dressed up! Could my voice be heard in the sea of people?

Maybe some of these thoughts are my own psychological mind discoveries/inquires…but what I do know is my eyes were starting to fill up when you said you don’t take teaching the class lightly or taking someones money lightly.  You are in the experience with us…you are not running a class as an assembly line, you are really showing up and holding space for us. I could feel it through the screen.

I also think it’s absolutely amazing the qualifications behind you. Once I read your background I was like WOW she has more experience in a diverse realm then many people that take the straight path of psychology to MBSR.

I’m excited and know that I am in the right place. I am absolutely loving the practices and what I am learning.” J.P.

“For the past ten weeks, our little team along with several other amazing women has had the good fortune of participating in a mindfulness teacher training with the unbelievably gifted Erin Sharaf. This weekend we capped off the course with two full days of meditation, introspection, sharing, healing, learning, laughing, and a whole lot of crying. The process was different for each of us but we have all come away from this experience forever changed and deeply grateful.”

~Past participants who took the course together as a work team

“Working with Erin was a remarkable experience. Meditation completely altered my life. Erin’s Mindfulness Teacher Training is so much more than meditation though. It went beyond anything I’d ever uncovered in therapy or self-development books. Now I see the truth. I see my true nature. I used to think I was lonely. Now I know I am connected.

I used to think I was unworthy of love and compassion. Now I know that I can only truly love others if I truly love myself. I work at self-compassion every day.

I used to think other people and circumstances caused how I felt. Now I know that I am the one who creates how I think and feel. Erin guided me every step of the way through this journey within. Becoming more mindful is intense work and Erin guides with a loving, supportive and knowledgeable hand.

It was only because I felt so comfortable and connected with her and my fellow classmates that I could really open up and process things that had been held in darkness for so long.

I’m ready to face the world (and my thoughts about it) in a new, calmer and more peaceful way. Erin has supplied me with the tools to go forth and live with more peace and happiness, to be an example for my family and friends and to, hopefully, spread the message that all you ever need is already within you.”

~Sonia LaCombe, Sustainability Coordinator, S. Kingstown, RI

“The third time I told myself I was too busy to take the Mindfulness Teacher Training I knew I wasn’t just taking it to be enriched by teaching others. I knew I was taking it to also deepen my own experience. Erin was so patient and nonjudgmental – allowing me to begin my journey when I was awake enough to be ready to experience it fully.

The online format was perfect. I would have missed three of the classes if that wasn’t the case. Instead, my classes were not interrupted because of work – or vacation. I was able to have the experience in multiple venues – giving me the chance to integrate it even more fully into every aspect of my life.

Initially I was concerned the online format would not create the sense of community I wanted from this course. That could not have been further from the truth. The ability to attend the classes no matter what was going on in my life, allowed me to be fully present and develop stronger relationships with the other students. I have friendships that have lasted long after the classes ended from this wonderful group of like minded individuals.

One could never read the length of the description of the outcomes I have received from this course. While it sounds incredibly trite, this class truly changed my life. I’ve been fortunate to have both good and bad experiences that have allowed me to become the person I am today. Before taking this course, however, I never realized it.

It was all there in front of me – like a newly opened box of jigsaw puzzle pieces.

Erin not only showed me the tips and tactics to finding a way to get the pieces to fit together, she gave me the permission and courage to finish it at whatever time felt right for me and in any pattern I saw in my mind’s eye.

My surprise: I am an attorney, trained in a linear methodology and driven by reaching goals. While this class allowed me to experience life on a deeper level, it also made me realize how much I have missed along the way. Fortunately, before it was too late to enjoy my new approach to life.

I’ve practiced yoga for decades and made the faulty assumption this would be a nice ‘add on’ to something that had enriched my life for many years. Instead, for me, this course gave me a new life lens that now yoga continues to deepen. I never imagined anything could have been more powerful for me than yoga. I am very fortunate to have found it – and passionate about sharing it with others.

While you will take it to share the practice with others, you can’t help but be strengthened by the inspiration and guidance Erin brings to each class.” ~Patricia McLaughlin, attorney

Words cannot do it justice. I am forever changed by this experience and deeply grateful to you for the wisdom, strength, and openheartedness you bring to your teaching” ~MTT Participant

“A transcendent weekend retreat–thank you so much, Erin! It was beautiful.”

~MTT Participant, author

“Ten weeks of Mindfulness Teacher Training culminating in a 2 day retreat, left us ready to set the world on fire.”

~MTT Past Participants, working with kids
